2013 Coaching Change: Palacios Sharks
Old Head Coach: Mike Treybig -- Retiring after leading the Sharks for the past 8 years to a 31-50 record. He has also been a head coach at Sweeny (1999-2004) going 28-31, Vanderbilt Industrial (1992-1998) going 59-20 and Houston Marian Christian for two seasons. Coach Treybig helped Palacios break a 43 year playoff drought in 2007 when the Sharks advanced to the Class 3A Division II quarterfinals. He also led Industrial to its first playoff win in 35 years in 1995. In 1998, the Cobras beat Sealy ending its four year run of state titles. He has an all-time coaching record of 118-101-0 which ranks him in the Top 325 in all-time coaching wins.
New Head Coach: Brad Bowden -- From 2A Early where he led the Longhorns for the past 3 years to a 8-22 record. He has also been a head coach at San Angelo Grape Creek for 3 seasons going 8-22. He has also been an assistant at Brownwood, Aransas Pass, Skidmore-Tynan and Clifton.
Team News: 2012's 5-5 seasons ended a 4 year losing streak.
