- Mike Says: The Redskins surprised everyone last year on their way to the state championship game. They became the first Houston ISD team in a state final since 1992. This year they return 35 lettermen and 13 starters from that state runner up team. That includes one of the states most electrifying players QB Darrel Colbert. Expect another great season this year. Look for them to go undefeated in the regular season (maybe a slip up an 1 loss) and then a trip to at least the Quarterfinals.
- Chris Says: Houston Lamar is the team that shocked the state last year with their run that ended just short of a state championship. The Redskins bring back a bunch of talent, and for that reason the state is abuzz with predictions of a return to the big game. I don't think anyone will look past them this season and they will find the road a little harder. No doubt, the Redskins will have an excellent season as they roll through District 20-5A, I just don't expect the other top programs in the state to just roll over though.
