Game of the Week (Wk 1 2013) – #19 2A DI Lago Vista Vikings @ #3 2A DI Grandview Zebras

#19 2A DI Lago Vista Vikings @ #3 2A DI Grandview Zebras

2013 Week 1 Texas High School Football Game Of The Week

Lago Vista won their only meeting last year 29-28

Last Week:
Lago Vista beat Dilley 44-13
Grandview beat Paradise 70-0

  • Grandview ZebrasMike Says: Grandview will be looking to avenge a loss to Lago Vista last year. The Vikings scored 16 points in the final 7:17 of the game to get the come from behind victory. This will not happen again this year for 2 reasons. The Zebra defense is tough led by Peyton Mahan and the Zebra offense will be ahead by more than 15 points late in the game this time. Last week, the Zebra offense averaged over 11 yards per play running and over 19 yards per play passing. Grandview will be playing in their 850th all-time game and have an all-time record of 413-395-41. This one is not close. The ZEBRAS win it 42-13!!
  • Lago Vista VikingsChris Says:  This is a game that on paper appears to be one-sided.  Although Lago Vista took the win last year, we have Grandview much higher in the rankings right now.  And yes, Grandview does have the cooler looking helmet.  Lago Vista however, is a very strong team and will give Grandview all they can handle even though it is a road trip for the Vikings.  Grandview hangs tough and attempts to even the series, but the VIKINGS win again 20-17!!!
  • Lago Vista VikingsLSG Intern Zach Says: Nice 2A match-up between teams that started their season’s off with statement wins. Lago Vista gave it to Dilley in a 44-13 win, while Grandview crushed paradise 70-0. With Refugio looming next week, Lago Vista will be happy to split these two tough matchups. They do, winning a track meet over the Zebras. Vikings 56-49.
