Mike Says:This one is going to be tough on me. In the Pre-Season, I picked Westlake #4 and Cibolo #6 so I should pick Westlake to win. Steele really looks good though even though they dropped one of our Games Of The Week in Week 0 to San Antonio Madison by 1 point. Their running game is outstanding with RB Justin Stockton and QB LG Williams who have combined for 912 rushing yards in 3 games. Westlake has just been getting by with close win over Temple and A&M Consolidated. They are just not looking like the championship team I thought they would be right now. Steele has not had a drop off with their new coach. The Knights are at home and the KNIGHTS win it 45-28!!
Chris Says: Both of these teams stumbled out of the gate and them regained their winning ways. The problem for Austin Westlake is that they are just barely finding a way to win games and have actually given up more points than they have scored this season. Steele's two wins have had much better margins of victory. If you just add up the numbers on offense and defense, you get Cibolo Steele taking the win 43-33. There is something scrappy about Austin Westlake however as in close games, they are 2-0 while Steele is 0-1. I am going against convention here when I say CHAPARRALS win it 42-38!!
LSG Intern Zach Says: Westlake is going to glad when this early-season grind is over. They lost a tough one in Week 0 to Cedar Park and have had to rally by double-digits two weeks in a row. Now they have to deal with Cibolo’s tough defense and RB Justin Stockton. Westlake is a good team, but Scott Lenhoff has something even better going in his first season as head coach. Knights 42-31.
LSG Intern William Says: Each team is 2-1, Westlake has a 12 point loss to a 2-1 Cedar Park team and Steele lost by 1 to a good San Antonio Madison squad. Each team is battle tested and have had impressive wins so far this year. I expect this Steele team and their running game to continue to play well in what should be a close game. Steele wins 41-38.
