Calallen is moving right along, as usual, joining Port Lavaca Calhoun as the teams to clinch a postseason berth out of 30-4A. Calallen appears to be headed towards an unbeaten regular season, but Victoria East may have something to say about that in Week 10. Calhoun, who has completed 18 passes this season, has been very impressive with its smashmouth rushing attack behind a massive offensive line. The Sandcrabs are capable of making plenty of noise in the playoffs. Victoria East, Victoria West, Gregory-Portland, and Tuloso-Midway are fighting for the final two berths. Tuloso-Midway needs to defeat Victoria West in arguably the most important game in the Week 9 slate to have a serious shot. In theory, there could be a three-team logjam at 2-4 after the regular season is said and done. Beeville Jones is already eliminated from playoff contention.
Prediction: Calallen (6-0), Calhoun (5-1), Victoria West (4-2), Victoria East (2-4), Gregory-Portland (2-4), Tuloso-Midway (2-4), Beeville Jones (0-6)
