San Antonio Johnson at San Antonio Reagan: Reagan, 42-14
Trailing 7-0 after the first quarter, San Antonio Reagan quarterback Ty Summers went to work. Summers rushed for 183 yards and two touchdowns as Reagan claimed a vital District 26-5A victory over San Antonio Johnson, 42-14. Reagan’s defense made it difficult for Johnson quarterback Hunter Rittiman all evening long. Reagan’s first score of the game came with 9:23 left in the second quarter when Efren Rodriguez hauled an interception back 69 yards for a touchdown. Rittman and running back Darion McElhannon combined for 193 rushing yards and touchdowns for the Jaguars, who fell to 6-2 on the season and 3-1 in district competition.
Fredericksburg at Navarro: Fredericksburg, 31-29
Gustavo Ortiz nailed a 37-yard field goal as time expired as Fredericksburg downed previously unbeaten Geronimo Navarro, 31-29. Fredericksburg, who remained unbeaten in District 27-3A and moved to 7-1 on the season with the victory, got 286 passing yards and 99 rushing yards from quarterback Kyle Grona. Brayden Beard caught five passes for 179 yards and a touchdown to pace Fredericksburg. Ty Durham totaled three touchdowns to lead the way for Navarro with two of them coming through the air. Jay Leal rushed for 89 yards in a balanced ground attack for Navarro, who fell to 7-1 on the season.
Pflugerville at Cedar Ridge: Cedar Ridge, 38-35
Alberto Camacho-Valladares drilled a 42-yard field goal as Cedar Ridge turned away an upset bid from Pflugerville, 38-35. Michael McCann hit David Racine to tie the score in the fourth quarter before the game-winning field goal. McCann finished 22 of 35 through the air for 308 yards and four touchdowns in the victory, while Charles Porter caught 14 passes for 156 yards and a touchdown for Cedar Ridge (6-2, 3-1 in 16-5A). Zach Milner threw for a pair of touchdowns for Pflugerville, while Jonathan Wallace rushed for 78 yards and two touchdowns.
Waco Connally at China Spring: Connally, 79-52
In a rough and tumble District 17-3A, Waco Connally responded from a loss to Robinson with an impressive 79-52 victory over China Spring. Josh Terrell only needed 20 carries to rush for 351 yards and three touchdowns. Kristian Brown complied 306 total yards and four touchdowns to pace the Cadets, who move to 6-2 on the season and 2-1 within its district. Clark Barlow led China Spring (5-3, 1-2 in 17-3A) with 133 rushing yards and a touchdown while adding a touchdown reception.
Brownwood at Lampasas: Lampasas, 61-56
Lampasas claimed its first district victory since 2011 in emphatic fashion with a 61-56 victory over Brownwood. Backup quarterback Collin Bowen hit Cale Walker on a 55-yard touchdown strike from 55 yards out with 39 seconds remaining to snap a seven-game losing streak within district play. Coming off a 58-57 overtime loss to Llano, Lampasas pounded its way to 478 rushing yards in the victory.
