Allen vs. Coppell: Allen 31-10
The top team in 5A was one of our games of the week and flexed their offensive and defensive muscles, and occasionally at the same time, putting linebacker Tay Evans in a wildcat package on offense and scored 2 touchdowns on 2 rushes. Kyler Murray continues to slash defenses (10-15 212 yards 1 TD) and the Allen defense held the Coppell rushing attack that was only able to score once in the 4th quarter. Allen continues to dominate even the strongest of teams as they head into district play.
Farmersville vs. Sunnyvale: Farmersville 51-48
Another high-octane game that saw Farmersville give Sunnyvale their first loss of the season and in district. There were 3 plays over 70 yards in this game in this game which added to the excitement. The game changed in the 4th quarter when Farmersville outscored Sunnyvale 24-14 including a late game field goal that by Erik Patino indeed up being the game-winner. Sunnyvale led in most statistical categories, including one big one. The real game changer was the lone fumble that Sunnyvale suffered as it was the only one in the game.
