Texas high school footballMike Says:  Both of these teams started out last week with district wins. I have this one as being the game for the district championship. Daingerfield has been a surprise this year with their 3 losses. I expected them to fall to Gilmer but not to 3A teams Gladewater and Atlanta. This is still a very dangerous team. New Boston has been rolling. They have not played the toughest competition but they have outscored them 203-46. I think this will be a close one. Our Pre-Season pick has the Tigers beating the Lions in the Quarterfinals on their way to their 10th all-time state championship game. I am not giving up on them yet. The TIGERS win it at home 32-28!!

Texas high school footballChris Says: I think Daingerfield has had a very tough road this year because of going up against so many Class 3A teams - and not just any 3Aers - we're talking some top programs.  The Tigers use pre-district to tune up and to challenge their kids - that they have accomplished.  New Boston is rolling, but their opponents are not nearly as strong.  Amateur prognosticators (Mike, that mean's people who make predictions,) will go with the 5-0 team over the 2-3 team and they will be wrong this time.  TIGERS climb back to .500 with a 32-26!!

New Boston Lions LSG Intern Zach Says: It so strange to see Daingerfield struggling like this. And for them to be 2-3 with all of those starters back? Not sure anybody saw that coming. As much I’d like to say the Tigers will turn it around, it won’t be this week. Nobody in 2A wants to tango with New Boston, which outscored North Lamar and Queen City by a combined 89-14 margin the past two weeks. Lions 42-27.

New Boston LionsLSG Intern William Says: New Boston started off this season hot and continued their streak when they played in their first district game, beating Queens City 48-7. Their defense continues to shine only giving up 7 points or less in 4 of their 5 games this year. New Boston is looking for another undefeated regular season this year and this week will bring them closer to their goal and the Tigers struggles will continue. Lions win 35-7

New Boston LionsLSG Intern Scott Says:  New Boston’s defense has been on point this season, allowing just 47 total points in five games as the Lions are off to a fast start at 5-0. New Boston’s ground attack is sure to give Daingerfield plenty of headaches. Daingerfield’s difficult schedule is to blame for a 2-3 start with losses to Gilmer and Gladewater. New Boston might have too much for Daingerfield and will claim the victory in this one, 23-19.
