Texas high school footballMike Says: McGregor may be walking into a hornets nest this week. Yoe was ranked #1 but lost last week to Lago Vista. The Yoemen may have been looking ahead to this game. Just a week before though the Bulldogs needed double overtime to beat Lago Vista....so Lago Vista may just be that good BUT they are only 1-2 in district play. Are you confused yet...I am. A Yoe loss here will put them in danger of maybe even missing out on the playoffs. I think Yoe will bounce back this week though. They have a balanced offensive attack (1,299 passing and 1,286 rushing) and a superstar QB in Jason Kopriva who has 1,295 yards passing 19 TDs and only 3 INTs. Their defenses is led by star LB Somari Wright who is averaging almost 15 tackles a game. The YOEMEN win this one 34-14!!

Texas high school footballChris Says: I personally thought we knocked Cameron Yoe too far down in the rankings for the one TD loss to Lago Vista.  McGregor ended up doing better against Lago than Cameron, but I still think Yoe is a better team.  Add that to the fact that they just lost their first game of the season AND they are at home.  Cameron Yoe is looking to set the record straight in District 13-2A.  YOEMEN right the ship with a win 35-28!!

Texas high school footballLSG Intern Zach Says: Love this quarterback duel between small school quarterbacks in Troy Allison and Jason Kopriva. The Yoemen need to bounce back after getting stunned by Lago Vista on the road. Meanwhile, the Bulldogs find themselves in the driver’s seat after the defending champs hit an unexpected speed bump. Do they smell blood in the water on the road? Probably, but they are going to find one motivated Cameron Yoe team at the end of the trail. The Yoemen are still loaded with some of the best talent in the district and they are all going to be ready to bounce back in a big way. This one won’t be as close as it could’ve been. Yoemen 42-28.

Texas high school footballLSG Intern William Says: McGregor seems to have been tested every way possible, they’ve had blow out wins and nail-biters. But they have yet to face a team like Cameron Yoe. The reigning state champs seemed to be on their way to another perfect season till the giant killers of Lago Vista, but their offense seems to have it all. Senior quarterback Jason Kopriva has 1295 yards and 19 touchdowns on the season and has only been intercepted three times. They also have a future star at running back with sophomore Traion Smith who has run for 914 yards and 12 touchdowns this season. For McGregor 4-year starter Troy Allison has had a tremendous year throwing for 1465 yards and 12 touchdowns. However they are still young up-front and that inexperience can still potentially hurt them. Yoemen win 62-51.

Texas high school footballLSG Writer Scott Says: McGregor is unbeaten and led by quarterback Troy Allison, who has 1,471 passing yards and 12 touchdowns. Garrett Salas pounds it for McGregor, rushing for seven touchdowns this season. Do not slight Cameron Yoe for its loss to Lago Vista last week. Lago Vista had already sprung a surprise earlier this season. The Yoemen still have steady-handed signal caller Jason Kopriva, who led his team to a state championship as a junior. Kopriva has 1,295 yards passing and 19 touchdowns this season. Sophomore Traion Smith has rushed for 12 touchdowns this season and is nearly 1,000 yards. Cameron Yoe, 34-27.
