Mason PunchersMike Says:  This will be a tough match-up with teams with very good defenses. Brackettville only give up 12 points per game while Mason only gives up 9. The key to this game will be can the Punchers stop Tiger RB David Ortega who is averaging 170 yards per game rushing. I dont think they can stop him but they can slow him down. He only gets 169 yards in this game. The PUNCHERS win it 21-20!!

Mason PunchersChris Says: Another amazing matchup and another game that will decide the district title.  Mason has been strong for quite some time now but Bracketville's 8-0 run is better than a lot expected.  Both teams are fielding some extremely stingy defenses and both are quite comfortable scoring.  The home field advantage gives Mason the slight edge, but really this one will come down to one lucky bounce or one penalty at a crucial time.  That means, coin flip time for me.   The PUNCHERS win the toss and the game 21-17!!

Mason PunchersLSG Intern Zach Says: #12 Brackettville (8-0) (3-0) @ #4 Mason (6-1) (3-0): This should be yet another battle for first place. Tough call because I want to believe in Mason this year. The Punchers have so much experienced talent, but their loss to Comfort earlier this season is puzzling. They have been on a tear ever since, and so has Brackettville in beating their last three opponents by 40+. I give Mason the edge because they have done this before and are at home, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Brackettville made a statement. Punchers 45-42.

Texas high school footballLSG Intern William Says:  The Mason offense has been exploding this year scoring over 50 points three times this year and over 40 points on two other occasions. They have really only had one tough test this year against a 5-3 Comfort team which they lost 17-14. This Brackettville team has also put up 50 three times, 40 twice, but they have also put up 61 last week against Center Point. Like Mason, Brackettville has had one tough test a 32-26 barn burner against a 7-1 Sabinal squad. Brackettville averages over 300 yards a game on the ground thanks to running back David Ortega. Tigers win 42-38.

Mason PunchersLSG Writer Scott Says:  Brackettville has a strong junior class, led by quarterback Colten Stephenson and running back David Ortega. Ortega has rushed for 20 touchdowns this season as Brackettville has rolled to an unbeaten mark. Despite its outstanding record, a trip to The Puncherdome is always a task. Mason is a proud program with a recent state championship winning history. Mason will lock down home field as it prepares to make another deep playoff run. Mason wins it, 34-26.
