Mike Says: Its a battle of East Texas Bulldogs. I am really excited about this game. It will a great one to watch. Kilgore avenged their 2 losses last year to Gilmer and Stephenville to make it here while Carthage took care of business with their only loss coming to a very good 4A team. We had both schools losing to Argyle in our pre-season predictions but since Argyle is in Division II here we are. Kilgore will bring the defense led by DL Ladarrin Anthony and DB Benny Colbert. Carthage will bring a record setting offense led by QB Blake Bogenschulz, WR Tee Goree and RB Tevin Pipkin. We had Carthage being here in the championship game in the Pre-Season losing to Argyle but now they are the favorites. The CARTHAGE BULLDOGS win their 4th state championship in 6 years 33-21!!
Chris Says: This is one of the most anticipated games of the year. It is hard to bet against either team right now. Kilgore seems to be a squad on a mission as they have battled some monsters in taking out everyone in the District of Doom (16-3A.) Carthage though has been one of the most powerful teams over the past five years and show no signs of slowing. In the end though, there can be only one top Bulldog. Kilgore completes their perfect season - KILGORE BULLDOGS take it 42-30!!
LSG Intern William Says: Kilgore has had one of the more dominant defenses in the playoffs this year, holding a dynamic Stephenville offense to just 6 points. The defense has also propelled Kilgore to an undefeated record. Carthage has an offense that could give Kilgore some trouble. Carthage has scored 40 points or more in every game except against West Orange- Stark (28-14). But like they always say defense wins championships Kilgore wins 27-17.
LSG Fan Poll Says: Another tight one in the fan voting. The voting went back and forth for a couple days and finally a leader has edged out. The leader as of right now is Kilgore (55%) over Carthage (45%.) Kilgore wins it - the fans have spoken!
