Mike Says: This is a match-up of our Pre-Season #2 (Guyer) vs. Pre-Season #6 (Brennan). We caught a little grief over having Brennan ranked so high but here they are. Guyer is the defending champ and will be led by dynamic QB Jerrod Heard. Brennan will bring what may be the states best defense in. This defense averages 14 Tackles For Loss per game. We had Guyer winning the championship in the pre-season but had Brennan falling in the Quarterfinals to Cedar Park. Sometimes these games are all about match-ups. I still think Guyer is a better overall team BUT if you can't score you can't win and nobody scores on that Brennan defense. The BEARS win in an upset (minor one) to win this battle of new schools (Guyer began varsity play in 2006, Brennan in 2010) 21-6!!
Chris Says: I love when one of our sleepers turns in a great season and Northside Brennan has certainly done that. Denton Guyer on the other hand has been right where most folks expected them. At the end of the day, both programs are very young and both have their mind set on a title. You can bet that Denton Guyer has watched the video from Brennan's game against SA East Central over and over again. That is the ONLY game all season where a team scored more than 6 on the Bears. In fact, Brennan has nine shutouts this season including a couple of playoff games. Denton Guyer's 1-1 record in championship games slips to 1-2. The BEARS take it 24-20!!
LSG Intern William Says: Brennon has cruised through their side of the bracket allowing a combined 21 points. Their offense also has been on a tear scoring 30 points or more in each game, Denton Guyer hasn’t been as dominant, but they’ve still set themselves above the rest of the tough region 1. While Brennon may have had the larger wins, Guyer still looks like the better team. Denton Guyer wins 32-23.
LSG Fan Poll Says: In a decade of fan voting in various game polls, we have seen millions of votes for various teams and this has NEVER happened before. Over 500 fans have weighed in on the Brennan vs Guyer showdown and not only is there no clear winner... the voting is EXACTLY TIED!! Yes Northside Brennan (50.000000%) and Denton Guyer (50.000000%) are completely tied. The result is... well, nothing. Neither team wins - neither team loses - the fans have spoken! (sort of)
