Denton Guyer had their hands full against a San Antonio Brennan team that allowed only 30 points in the regular season and only 21 in the playoffs. Their defense is led by DL Derick Roberson who has 20 sacks on the season, but the Brennan defense was going up against a tough offense led by Jerrod Heard. Heard and the Guyer offense were able to score 31 points and win 31-14. The Defensive Player of the Game was Brennan LB Grant Watanabe while the Offensive Player of the Game was Guyer QB Jerrod Heard.

Guyer was able to score eight plays later on a Jerrod Heard pass to David Haynes for a 14-yard touchdown giving Guyer the early 7-0 lead. After both teams traded punts Brennan quarterback Da’Shawn Key found running back Nathaniel Wells Jr on a 47-yard pass play to get them down a the 1-yard line, but two costly penalties moved them back. The quarterback Key however would cap the 7-play drive with an 11-yard rushing score. Guyer would respond with a 10-play drive that included two fourth down conversions and caps the drive off with a Jerrod Heard 4-
yard run to go up 14-7 once again. At the end of the first half the Brennan 1st who have only allowed two touchdowns all year, allowed two to Jerrod Heard and Denton Guyer in the first half. Guyer also outgained Brennan 155-122 yards.
Brennan would start the second half with a punt and Guyer was about to do the same but an offside penalty from Brennan allowed Guyer to keep the ball. Heard and the Guyer offense would take advantage of the penalty and kick a field goal to take a 17-7 lead. Brennan would
get the ball at the 28-yard line and quarterback Key looked to have scored with the third quarter ending, but a holding call would bring it back as they ended the third quarter.
Opening up the fourth quarter Brennan was unable to get a first down and would miss a 40-yard field goal attempt. Guyer would respond with a 28-yard touchdown run by Jerrod Heard to extend the lead 24-7. Brennan would score quickly after though with Da’Shawn Key scoring on a 32-yard run now making it 24-14. Guyer would then recover the onside kick, then 2 plays after converting a 4th lead 31-14.
