The Dale Hansen Football Classic was founded in 2012 and has quickly become a legacy in Texas High School Football. The classic features Texas high school football while raising funds for college scholarships for each of the participating schools. The 2014 classic will be held September 5 and 6, 2014, at Stuart B. Lumpkins Stadium located in Waxahachie, Texas, and will feature six football teams from the Dallas-Ft. Worth Metroplex.
This year's Dale Hansen Football Classic will feature three games – one on Friday night and two on Saturday. Friday night’s match up will feature the Red Oak Hawks vs. the Azle Hornets. Saturday will feature a double-header beginning at 3:00 p.m. The first game will highlight the Alvarado Indians against the Decatur Eagles. The second game will showcase the Waxahachie Indians as they take on the Frisco Raccoons.
Along with the three football games, twelve students from the participating schools will be awarded scholarships at a Champions Breakfast and honored during a pre-game ceremony during the Classic.
“We are extremely excited about working with Dale Hansen and honoring him once again at the third annual Dale Hansen Football Classic. Not only is he an ambassador for the community by making Waxahachie his home, his love for children, coupled with his passion for education and sports, makes this event a win-win,” stated Dr. Jeremy Glenn, Waxahachie ISD Superintendent.
