The Lions from Dublin won the 62nd meeting between them and the Hico Tigers Thursday night at Tarleton Memorial Stadium 23-20. This was a big upset even though Dublin is a 3A school and has a little over 100 more students than 2A Hico. The Tigers from Hico came into the game ranked #4 in Class 2A Division I.
The Lions led in the 2nd quarter 14-0 before the Tigers took charge in the 3rd to take a 20-16 lead. After the Lions scored a touchdown in the 4th, it took an interception with under 2 minutes remaining to secure the victory for Dublin.
Hico has won the last 5 contest by a combined score of 232-55. Dublin now leads the all-time series 38-21-3.
