THIS is why we do our Intership Program!

Each time it happens, it is a great feeling and each time it happens, we are so proud of our kids. These kids are the young adults that have leveraged their participation in our Internship Program into a step up into the sports media/journalism and marketing world. Dozens have gone before Taylor, but this letter we received yesterday was the perfect pre-Thanksgiving gift from a recent intern.
Mike and Chris,
I just realized that I never thoroughly thanked you both for allowing me to contribute to Lone Star Gridirion for a little while! I believe it definitely provided the foundation to spring me forward to where I am today. For an update, upon graduation from the University of Texas I had to relinquish my student employment within the Texas Athletic department. Without really skipping a beat, I received and accepted an offer from the University of North Texas Athletic department to be a Media Relations Assistant within Athletics Communications. I am currently a Sports Information Director and primary media contact for the volleyball and softball programs specifically, while I also assist with football and basketball, among other things. One of those “other things” is getting to work with my first love TXHSFB, as I am the primary media contact for high school games at our Apogee Stadium! So all of that being said, I just wanted to thank you for really contributing a lot to my success. Also, I wanted to ask if you had anyone in the DFW area currently contributing to LSG that might want a credential for the Allen vs. Arlington Martin Regional Semifinal game this Friday in Denton. If so, just let me know and I can make it happen!
Thanks so much,
I want to take a second to not only thank Taylor for that great letter, but to thank all the interns over the previous ten years for all the hard work and motivation they have put into building their careers using the tools we provide at Lone Star Gridiron.
We call it "the greatest sport in the greatest state" ™ not just because of what we see on the field, but for every man, woman, student, parent and fan that play their role in making it great - Taylor and all our interns certainly fit that role.
