2014 Texas High School Football Week Eleven Highlights

Houston:
Episcopal scored on three of its first four offensive plays to jump to an early lead and knock off Houston Kinkaid 44-20 in the SPC championship game. Manvel downed Pearland in a battle of state-ranked unbeaten to clinch the 22/6A title 35-33 but it took an interception by UCLA bound Will Lockett with three minutes remaining to cinch the outcome. Dickinson outscored Clear Springs 50-33 as Jacoby Fowler hauled in three touchdown passes from Cameron Martin. Marquese Greer scored three first half touchdowns to lead Richmond Foster past Angleton 34-28. C.E. King won their first district championship in a long time, beating Crosby 28-21 as Trayvion Williams rushed for 244 yards. Xavier Jones totaled 300 yards to lead Spring to the playoffs with a 41-16 win over Klein Oak. Casey Rosellini threw for 297 yards and four scores, while rushing for another to lead Cy Falls to a 56-0 shutout of Cy Lakes. Fort Bend Elkins beat Santa Fe 56-10 as Khalif Smith rushed for three touchdowns. Fort Bend Marshall pounded Willowridge 35-6 as both Davon Crookshank and Adrion Robinson rushed for over 100 yards. Katy warmed up for another state title run, crushing rival Cinco Ranch 51-0. Rodney Anderson rushed for 170 and backfield teammate Kyle Porter for 116.
East Texas:
Junior Travon Fuller (A&M commit) had a night for the ages in Athens 52-28 win over Wills Point. Fuller rushed for 153 yards and scored 4 times on only six carries, but he also snagged 3 interceptions, returned a fumble for a touchdown, and blocked a field goal. John Tyler's defense held an opponent under 200 yards for the third week in a row and Jeremy Wilson cracked the 1000 yard rushing mark in a 44-14 win over Nacogdoches. Arp beat Frankston 65-38 as Marcalas Johnson rushed for 233 yard and seven touchdowns on only 12 carries. Ozzie Buckner threw for 458 yards and six touchdowns in a losing cause for Frankston. Kevrin Justice rushed for 164 yards to lead Kilgore past Henderson 24-18. Gilmer finished the season unbeaten, rolling over Emory Rains 63-27. McLane Carter threw three touchdowns and Demarco Boyd rushed for two tds and returned a fumble for another.
Central Texas:
Leander Vandegrift stopped Georgetown’s two point try with just 16 seconds left to escape with a 63-62 win. Travis Brannan rushed for 302 yards and four touchdowns while Jamie Hudson totaled 351 yards and five scores for the Vipers. Austin Reagan advance to the playoffs with a 33-21 win over Austin Crockett. Mulbah Car rushed for 220 yards and three second half scores for the Raiders, while Austin’s all- time leader rusher, Justin Miller of Crockett, ended his career with 4256 yards. Pflugerville Hendrickson blew a 33-14 lead against Leander Rouse, allowing Rouse to score twice in the final eight minutes . Hendrickson won 33-28 despite making three turnovers on the last four minutes, and having to stop Rouse in the red zone all three times. Austin Lake Travis got two special teams touchdowns and ran away from Austin Akins 69-6. Austin Westlake got two defensive touchdowns and Sam Ehlinger threw four TD passes as the Chaps blasted Kyle Lehman 63-7. In San Antonio, Brennan won the battle of unbeaten, edging Brandeis 21-17. With star QB Da’Shawn Key sitting out with injury, the Brennan defense stepped up to force four turnovers. Alamo Heights bested Kerrville Tivy 51-44 in a duel of top South Texas QB’s. Alamo Heights Dalton Banks threw for 325 yards and four scores, and rushed for 89 and two more, while Tivy’s Kade Dyal threw for 338 yds and one TD, and rushed for two more himself.
Dallas/Fort Worth:
Keller Central beat Timber Creek 43-20 as Jake McClurg, threw for 277 yards and four TDs, three of them to Nick Rischer. Denton Guyer beat rival Ryan 52-17 as soph QB Shawn Robinson threw for 146 yards and rushed for 84. Southlake Carroll beat LD Bell 38-14 as Ryan Agnew completed 15/19 passes for 200 yards and three TDs. Aca’Cedric Ware (USC commit) rushed for 128 yards and four touchdowns to lead Cedar Hill to a surprisingly close 37-35 win over Grand Prairie. Mansfield’s offense had a big night in a 62-27 win over Midlothian. QB Aaron Funk threw for 261 yards, WR Said Adebo caught five passes for 184 , and sophomore RB Kennedy Brooks rushed for 214 yards. Mansfield Timberview’s Derek Johnson rushed for 210 yards and four scores in a 48-31 win over Mansfield Summit. Sophomore Tracin Wallace had 289 yards of total offense as Fort Worth South Hills beat Wyatt 49-13. Fort Worth Arlington Heights shutout Western Hills 67-0 as Deion Hair’Griffin rushed for 215 yards and four scores. Arlington Lamar knocked off Sam Houston 49-14 as QB Shane Buechele threw for 249 yards and three scores. Justin Northwest’s Jesse Drummer threw for 209 yards , with 13 throws directed to Emmanuel Moore for 149 yards. Soph QB Jaylin Nelson totaled 321 yards to engineer DeSoto past Duncanville 69-20. Isaiah Duarte rushed for 293 yards and five TD’s to lead Birdville past Carter-Riverside 69-21.
West Texas:
David Ruot rushed for 236 yards and two scores as Abilene Cooper beat San Angelo Lake View 35-31. Odessa High upset Abilene 41-37 as QB Nick Adams threw for 266 and four TDs , while RB Sebastian Galindo rushed for 166, caught two passes for 21 yards and scored four times. Abilene Wylie knocked off Stephenville 21-7 as Clay Johnston rushed for 177 yards and two scores. Landen Lewis rushed for 215 yards to lead Cisco past Eastland 50-14. Levelland’s sophomore QB, Nick Gerber had a big night, passing for 394 yards and five touchdowns, while rushing for three more as Levelland beat Pampa 70-64. Muleshoe WR Keagan Gonzales was thrust into a backup role at QB and responded with 271 yards of offense in a 34-27 win over Littlefield.
