Mike Says: The surprise of all the teams here playing championship games my be the Cypress Ranch Mustangs. They have really impressed people every week leading up to this game. Every week, everyone said...this is the week Cypress Ranch loses....didn't they have a great season? Now, here they are in the championship game with the same thing being said. I am pulling for them but they are going up against the Goliath of Texas High School Football in Allen. The Eagles are led by superstars QB Kyler Murray (4,397 yards passing) and WR Jalen Guyton (1,742 yards passing). I guess, I am saying the same thing....this is the week Cypress Ranch loses....didn't they have a great season? Allen has won against 3 Houston schools in their 3 championship games. They won the first one by 7 points, the 2nd one by 14 points and then the 3rd by 35. I hate to see that trend continue but the EAGLES win by 42 this time 56-14!!
Chris Says: I was one of the most vocal prior to the start of the season in my belief that Allen's run was going to hit a speed bump this season. I am the first to admit - I was wrong. They have traversed speed bumps, road blocks, immovable objects and more... en-route to 42 straight wins. Sure, Cypress Ranch is to be commended for making it this far - I can't find one person who expected the Mustangs to still be playing. (If you find someone who said they did... go ahead and call them a liar for me.) Do the Mustangs have the team to compete with Allen? Certainly, as they have shown week in and week out against some very strong competition... I just don't know if they can compete with destiny. Coach Gene Johnson - if you need anything more to fire up your team - tell them that. Yes... I am on the bandwagon finally. EAGLES win 55-26!!!
