Who is the Team Of The Decade for 2015?

Lone Star Gridiron (LSG) has once again come up with the definitive ranking of the top teams over the last decade (2005-2014). In order to be considered a team has to have played (win or lose) in a championship game during that time frame and has been playing varsity ball for at least 10 seasons.

You will notice teams in here that may have had a great run recently and wonder why they are not higher in the list?  Remember, this is a ranking of the teams over the previous decade, not previous three years etc.

Our team of experts weighed everything from their regular season and playoff records to how many times they reached each level of the playoffs.  A big congratulations goes out to the Katy Tigers who remained #1 for the 3rd year in a row.  Their consistency when it comes to playing at a high level has once again surpassed every other team.

This is your Texas High School Football Team of the Decade Ranking for 2014:

As you can see, this top 10 list is a Who's Who of great Texas high school football programs.  Teams like Austin Lake Travis (won 5 championships in a row) and Allen (won the last three state titles) are alongside many other great programs.  Interestingly, the DFW area has by far the most teams in the list, but the top teams overall are from the Houston and Central Texas Regions.

Movers

The teams that moved up the most from last year to this year was #42 Wellington  (up 39 spots), #25 Navasota (up 26 spots), #43 Graham  (up 25 spots) and #50 Wall (up 24).

The teams that dropped the most were #75 Kilgore (down 38 spots),#49 Shiner (down 25 spots),#63 Windthorst (down 20 spots) and #66 Lexington (down 20).
