•6A cutoff rose 50 to 2,150. The biggest enrollment jump in the largest class since 2008
•Leander, Leander Vandegrift and Cedar Park Vista Ridge will be moving up to 6A. They were all members of that very good 25-5A district.
•Colleyville Heritage, Justin Northwest and Richland will drop from 6A to 5A in the DFW
•Austin High will fall to Class 5A where the Maroons will no longer be with longtime rivals Bowie and Westlake.
•Liberty Hill will be staying in Class 4A...they had an enrollment of 1,090.5 students, just below the Class 5A cutoff of 1,100
•Fort Bend Ridge Point who was a power in Class 5A will move up to 6A
•Dallas Highland Park, which will be dropping down to 5A after a brief stint in 6A. Highland Park had an enrollment of 2,106 for 2014-16 which was just 6 students over the cutoff. Their enrollment for the 2016-2018 alignment was 2,120.
•Class 6A will gain 3 teams from East Texas. Tyler John Tyler, Longview, and Lufkin are headed up from 5A.
•Every Corpus Christi School fell to class 5A...including current 6As Carroll, King and Ray.
•If you include Victoria East and West, there are 13 Coastal Bend 5A schools….could some of these be included in possibly a San Antonio 5A district.
•Lubbock Coronado, Lubbock Monterey and Amarillo High will be dropping down to Class 5A…..That means Wolfforth Frenship and Amarillo Tascosa will be the only 6A schools in Lubbock and Amarillo
•Port Arthur Memorial will be dropping down to class 5A and Baytown Goose Creek Memorial will be moving up to 6A
