Rio Grande Valley Sports Hall of Famer Receives Another Honor

Cats Stadium, the location of Texas high school football games for the Edinburg Bobcats, Edinburg North Cougars, Edinburg Economedes Jaguars and Edinburg Vela Sabercats will now be call Richard R. Flores Stadium.  The name change was announced by the Board of Trustees for Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District (ECISD) a few weeks ago.

Flores coached at Rio Hondo, Lyford and Edinburg.  He compiled a lifetime W-L record of  156-73-1 which places him tied for #221 in the All-Time Coaching Wins*  list in Texas High School Football.

Flores has remained a big part of the Rio Grande Valley sports scene and is well-known throughout the community.
