Mike Says: Cedar Hill looks like they will start off as king of the hill in Division II. They missed out on another matchup with Katy in the championship last year after falling to Southlake Carroll in Bi-District play. This year Katy goes Division I so it is next team up and that is Cibolo Steele who has been falling to Katy in the Semifinals the last few seasons. Newcomers to the big stage is Richmond George Ranch (6A anyway) and Round Rock Cedar Ridge. In Division I, we have Austin Westlake finishing what they started last year. They will have a very difficult time but if they can pull it off, they will earn it. They have Austin Lake Travis in the Quarterfinals, Katy in the Semifinals and then Allen who's long winning streak they ended last year in the championship game. The Woodlands was a surprise to see go so far but they should win their matchups.

Chris Says: Come playoff time, it is all about matchups.  Not just a WR vs a DB, but when in the playoff run you match up against a stronger opponent.  Because of that, you see lower ranked teams making it further in the playoffs just because they had an easier run.  You saw that the past couple seasons in the Region I teams from the Dallas area knocking each other out.  You see it again this year with the Katy Tigers being ranked #2 but falling before the state title game because they will be going DI and facing up against Austin Westlake early.  With Katy out of the DII picture, it is Cedar Hill's title to lose.  The big news is that Cibolo Steele should be in a title game finally after being close since 2011.  I am also interested in seeing if Richmond George Ranch can compete at the same level after moving up from Class 5A?
