Mike Says: Three of the Quarterfinals games will feature schools from the same district playing each other. In the Championship games, we have Refugio coming back and this time winning the DI crown over Crawford. The Pirates from Crawford, last made the big game in 2004. In Division II, we have the back to back champs Bremond falling to Iraan. Iraan last played in the championship game in 1996.
Chris Says: The big news for me is Refugio. In what will be their 8th state championship appearance and 3rd win, the Bobcats will be a welcome site in Arlington. In Division II, the newcomer is Hamlin. The Pied Pipers will catch some folks by surprise and may be on the verge of creating a new tradition. It has been 20 years since Iraan appeared in their only championship game (a 14-7 victory over Groveton) and Braves fans say it their return is long overdue.
