The Tigers from Fort Bend Travis (#118 in 6A) improved their record to 2-1 with a 17-14 win over the Knights from Fort Bend Elkins (#5 in 5A) (0-3). Elkins led 14-9 late in the 4th quarter before Travis QB Amryn Jeffrey hit Jake Prep for a 1 yard touchdown pass. Jeffrey then hit Sophomore WR Arjei Henderson for the 2 point conversion pass to bring the score to 17-14 with 5:33 remaining which turned out to be the final score. Jeffrey completed 22 of 35 passes for 218 yards and 1 touchdown while Henderson caught 9 passes for 118 yards. Those are not bad numbers but last week against Katy Taylor, Jeffrey completed 35 of 42 passes for 482 yards and 4 touchdowns while Henderson caught 14 passes for 206 yards and 1 touchdown.
