Abilene (2-1) RB Abram Smith scored 7 touchdowns to win the 56th playing of the Crosstown Showdown. Abilene Cooper (1-2) still leads the all-time series 32-23-1.

#3 6A Austin Westlake 35, #131 6A Pflugerville 0
Austin Westlake (2-1) showed that they can still play football even though Texas Longhorns pledge Sam Ehlinger has been sidelined by a knee injury that required surgery. They got a great night from RB Nakia Watson who is a junior transfer from Manor this past spring. He ran for 145 yards and 4 touchdowns as Westlake beat Pflugerville (1-2) at Chaparral Stadium.

Euless Trinity (3-0) used a strong running game going for 326 yards on the ground to beat Colleyville Heritage (1-2) for the 10th time since 2002.

#54 6A Waco Hewitt Midway 26, #7 5A Temple 20
Temple (2-1) turned the ball over 5 times as Waco Hewitt Midway (1-2) got their first win of the season. Midway has lost to #3 5A Cedar Park 13-43 and #28 6A Round Rock Cedar Ridge 3-52 coming into the game.

#26 6A Klein Collins 14, #19 6A Houston Lamar 9
Klein Collins (2-1) played another Houston power this week and got a huge win. Collins lost in double overtime last week to #1 6A Katy. Houston Lamar (2-1) has big wins over #24 Spring Westfield and #53 Fort Bend Hightower this year.

#55 6A Round Rock 20, #10 6A Smithson Valley 14
Round Rock (2-1) made a statement with a upset win over Smithson Valley (1-1). Round Rock plays another tough one next week against #41 Belton.

#22 6A San Angelo Central 52, #29 5A Kerrville Tivy 0
San Angelo Central (3-0) has outscored their opponents 187-61 so far this year. Only #27 6A Odessa Permian and #46 6A Amarillo Tascosa look to be able to keep them from a perfect regular season.

#47 6A South Grand Prairie 39, #18 6A Arlington Martin 25
Not sure what to think about South Grand Prairie (2-1). One week they get beat 7-37 by #45 Arlington Lamar and the next they beat up on #18 Arlington Martin.

Wow....#1 in 6A Falls for the 2nd week in a row. Katy (1-2) was the only team to beat The Woodlands (3-0) last year in the regular season.

Corpus Christi Carroll (2-1) dominated the 45th playing of the Battle Of The Bridge. The series is all tied up now at 22-22-1 since 1972.

Stephenville battled back after being down 3-24 at halftime but it was not enough. Everman now leads this series 9-4 since 1998. Stephenville had won the last 2 years.

Manvel showed that they are a state power at any classification. They beat Galena Park North Shore last week who was the 2015 Class 6A Division I state champion. This week they not only knocked off a Houston power but shut them out.

Waxahachie won the 94th “Battle of 287”. They now lead this all-time 47-45-2. Waxahachie beat #9 Dallas Highland Park last week. Look out for the Indians.

#1 falls....Alvarado is now 14-7-1 vs. Kennedale since 1986.

#9 4A DI Andrews 77, #22 4A DI Levelland 76, OT
Andrews won a much anticipated battle of quarterbacks in Andrews Triston Williams and Levellands Nick Gerber. In overtime Levelland scored and elected to go for two and the win. The pass fell incomplete.

Argyle showed that they are once again one of the best in the 4A classification.

Another #1 falls but this time to a much bigger opponent. China Spring dominated and showed that they are for real.

Canadian falls for the 2nd time this year.....both losses where to much bigger schools.
