Does SAC Get Past DFW Finally?
The #13 Class 6A San Angelo Central Bobcats are looking like world-beaters this season. Is this the year they make it past the the DFW area schools to a Quarterfinal appearance or beyond?
2016 games so far
San Angelo Central 63, Abilene 26
San Angelo Central 72, Bryon Nelson 35
San Angelo Central 52, Kerrville Tivy 0
San Angelo Central 53, Killeen Shoemaker 13
San Angelo Central 55, Odessa 0
The Bobcats are scoring 59 points per game!!
The turnaround for San Angelo Central has come about with the addition of Coach Brent Davis in 2009. You can see a clear climb in the team record since he took over at the helm. The year before Davis took over, the Bobcats were 0-10. Under Davis, the team has had three (soon to be four) consecutive 10+ win seasons. Something that has NEVER been done in the school's history. In fact, the last time the Bobcats had double-digit wins before coach Davis was back in 1991.
YEAR DISTRICT W L T COACH 2016 2-6A 2015 3-6A 11 2 0 Brent Davis 2014 3-6A 11 2 0 Brent Davis 2013 2-5A 10 2 0 Brent Davis 2012 2-5A 6 5 0 Brent Davis 2011 2-5A 9 3 0 Brent Davis 2010 2-5A 5 7 0 Brent Davis 2009 2-5A 2 8 0 Brent Davis
There are a lot of people around the state that think this is the year the "Angry Orange" knocks off a DFW team and pushes through their previous playoff ceiling.
