Carlos Lynn Takes Over at Cedar Hill

Carlos Lynn will be the new head coach for the Cedar Hill Longhorns. He comes from Arlington Seguin where he led the Cougars for the past 9 years to a 44-51 record. The Cougars won 7 games last year which was the most during Lynn's time with them. Coach Lynn had been one of Joey McGuire’s assistants with the Longhorns from 1998-2007, including defensive coordinator in 2006 when Cedar Hill won the Class 5A Division II state title.

Coach McGuire left to take an assistant coaching job at Baylor University. He led the Longhorns to a 141-42 record during his 14 years as their head coach. The Longhorns have been to the state championship only four times in their history, each of which was under coach McGuire. Before McGuire came to Cedar Hill, the Longhorns went 5-15 in the previous 2 years and had never won a playoff game. They began varsity football in 1935. He is currently tied for 277th place on the all-time coaching wins list.
