The Sealy Tigers will be getting a new head coach. Not just any head coach - one that is coming off a state championship appearance. Shane Mobley is leaving Sweetwater after leading the Mustangs to the Class 4A State Championship game last year.
Tigers faithful are excited about the move as the last time Sealy had a record above .500 was 6-4 in 2012.
Coach Mobley was 46-16-0 during his 5 year stay in Sweetwater. Before that he was the defensive coordinator at Seguin and Sweetwater. He will be replacing Jason Holcomb who resigned after going 19-24 in his 4 years with the Tigers. Coach Holcomb was also a head coach at Lexington going 108-50-0 during his 13 years there. He has an all-time coaching record of 127-74-0 which puts him in a tie for 321st place on the all-time coaching wins list.
