New Championship Game Schedule for 2017

Updated: May 3, 2017
Life is going to be a lot easier for die hard Texas high school football fans - at least for the week of the State Championship games. The University Interscholastic League (UIL) has announced some scheduling changes that should have less bleary-eyed fans (and media types) after each day.
Not only are the games moving to an earlier start (11am vs noon) but the one day of four games has been modified to make all the days hold only three games. Last year, Wednesday saw only two games because of the field difference between 1A (Six-Man) game and the eleven man game played by the rest of the classifications.
To accommodate the shift in field size before the final Wednesday game, there will one more hour between the end of the 2nd game 1A DII and the 3rd game 2A DI. Also the time between the first two games of the day Wednesday is tightened to give more time to make the field changes.
Once again, all games will be played at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas and provide fans with the best opportunity to see the top teams, players, coaches and fans of "the greatest sport in the greatest state!" (TM) all at one place!
