14 Kickers Made Record Setting Field Goals in 2016
Lone Star Gridiron continues to be the gold standard for news and historical information about Texas high school football. The record books grow each year and 2016 saw many new records carved into those history books.
There were fourteen (14) additions to the Texas High School Football Record Book for longest field goals made in a game recorded in 2016. That list now shows 107 kickers. To make that list, a player would now need to make a 50 yard field goal.
Southlake Carroll kicker, Kole Ramage made quite a name for himself in 2016, kicking five fields goals of 50 yards or more. He made the longest three of all players in the state during the year. He made kicks of 56, 55 and 53 to lead everyone.
The current record is 62 yards, held by 3 players.
