Tony Heath announced that he will be retiring as the Head Coach and Athletic Director of the Pearland Oilers. The date is set for the end of July but Heath assures us that the team will be "in good hands."
Coach Heath took over the program 20 years ago when the team was coming off a 9-90 record during the previous 10 seasons. During his time at the helm, Pearland compiled a record of 195-53-0, a State Championship in 2010 and a State Runner-Up finish in 2013. He leaves the team as the winningest coach in program history.
Heath was interviewed by Chris Doelle for the LSG TXHSFB Coaches Show this offseason. (LISTEN HERE) in which he recounted his stops in Abernathy, West Texas A&M, UT Arlington, Santa Fe, La Marque and finally Pearland.
Coach Heath leaves the team much stronger than when he arrived and we congratulate him on a great career and wish him all the best in his next chapter - working with Hellas Construction as Business Development Manager for the Houston Region
