Mike Says: In Division I, we have a re-match of the 2015 championship game where Brock had a comeback win over Cameron Yoe. This would be Yoe's 6th championship game since 2010 and Brocks 2nd in their 4 years of varsity play. Yoakum and Hallettsville will battle it out for the Region IV championship. Another interesting Quarterfinal game will be Cameron Yoe and Rockdale in year another version of the the Battle of the Bell. Division II has Newton playing in their 5th championship game since 1998. We have Newton going up against last years champion Gunter. Lexington and Canadian will be around to make things interesting also.
Chris Says: As mentioned in the preseason 3A DI & DII Big 15 posts, this is a year of former champions. Don't assume you can just hand it automatically to one of these former title holders but rest assured you have to go through them to get there yourself. This is one of the hardest fought classifications in all of Texas high school football. I look forward to seeing some of these teams in action this year. My only regret is that I can't possibly see all of them.
