Texas High School Football Week 3, 2017

Week Three of the 2017 Texas high school football season is complete.

We had a ton of interesting tidbits from week two:

    • San Marcos looked poised to move to 3-0 until New Braunfels staked their own 3-0 claim with a late rally to win 54-42.
    • Abilene Cooper 49, Abilene 35 -- Cooper improved their record in this series 33-23-1 all-time in the “Crosstown Showdown”
    • Austin LBJ 48, Austin Anderson 20 -- “Taco Shack Bowl”
    • Graham 42, WF Hirschi 35 -- Graham played in their 1,050th all-time game
    • Lufkin 44, Tyler 34 -- Lufkin improved their record in this series to 30-38-3 all-time
    • Gregory-Portland 55, CC Carroll 14 -- Gregory-Portland evened this series at 23-23-1 since 1972 in the “Battle Of The Bridge”
    • Colleyville Heritage 31, Euless Trinity 14 -- Colleyville Heritage finally won a game in this series and is now 1-10 since 2002. Before this game, there were only 2 games Euless did not win by at least 14 points
    • Austin Westlake 52, Pflugerville 3 -- Austin Westlake now leads this series 6-1 since 1994
    • CC Moody 21, CC Ray 14 -- Moody improved their record in this series to 13-35-1 all-time
    • Smithson Valley 50, Round Rock 10 -- Smithson Valley Head Coach Larry Hill won his 250th all-time game
    • Denton Guyer 66, Dallas Kimball 12 -- Denton Guyer played in their 150th all-time game
    • San Angelo Central 57, Kerrville Tivy 6 -- San Angelo Central won their 600th all time game
    • Houston Austin 52, Houston Milby 0 -- Houston Austin improved their record in this series to 26-40-0 all-time
    • Waxahachie 35, Ennis 28, OT -- Waxahachie now leads this series 48-45-2 all-time in the “Battle of 287”
    • Geronimo Navarro 35, Gonzales 10 -- Geronimo Navarro Head Coach Les Goad coached in his 125th game @ Navarro and also earned his 100th coaching win @ Navarro
    • Kennedale 51, Alvarado 7 -- Kennedale improved their record in this series to 8-14-1 since 1986 Kennedale Head Coach Richard Barrett also coached in his 200th game @ Kennedale
    • West Orange-Stark 39, Bridge City 6 -- West Orange-Stark extended their record in this series to 26-0 All-Time
    • Silsbee 30, Jasper 23 -- Silsbee is now 33-43-2 all-time in this series
    • Paris 26, Sulphur Springs 23, 2OT -- Paris is now 53-32-5 all-time in this series
    • Stephenville 34, Everman 21 -- Stephenville is now 9-5 in this series since 1998
    • Giddings 28, Fischer Canyon Lake 23 -- Giddings played in their 1,000th all-time game
    • Rusk 41, Crockett 6 -- Rusk is now 16-37-1 all-time in this series
    • Mexia 36, Groesbeck 8 -- Mexia played in their 1,050th all-time game
    • Vernon 36, Burkburnett 28 -- Vernon is now 43-18-3 all-time in this series
