Taylor Brings Winning Ways to Panthers
The Pflugerville Panthers have hired Charles Taylor to be their next Head Coach. Taylor will replace George Herrmann who retired after the 2017 season.
Herrmann has been the Head Coach at Pflugerville since 1997 going 128-106 during that time. The 128 wins puts him in 324th place all-time for coaching wins.
Taylor comes over from Austin McCallum who just come off of their best season in school history going 14-1 and making it to the state semifinals. Coach Taylor went 35-13 during his 4 years with McCallum. This will be his 2nd Head Coaching position.
The Panthers will be looking for their first winning season since 2012. The new re-alignment brings them good news and bad. The good news is that they will be dropping down to Class 5A going to District 11-5A Division I. The bad news is that they will have Cedar Park, Georgetown, Hutto, Leander Rouse, Manor and Pflugerville Connally is their district. That will make that winning season and a trip to the playoffs a tough chore.
