Football Spotlight: Richardson

The city of Richardson has four (4) high schools. Here are some tidbits about this football-rich town:

Richardson High is the oldest school and has been playing since 1910. The Eagles have had 45 winning seasons since then. Head Coach Greg Pels has them going in the right direction as they went 5-5 last year just missing the playoffs.

Richardson Lake Highlands began play in 1961. They won the 1981 Class 5A Championship with a win over Houston Yates 19-6. The Wildcats have had back to back 6-5 seasons and have an All time record of 383-250-10 through 635 games.

Richardson Pearce began play in 1968. The Mustangs have had 2 consecutive non-losing seasons and have an All-Time Record of 212-302-13 through 527 games.

Richardson Berkner began play in 1970. The Rams are led by Jim Ledford who has been with the Rams since 2001. He has 124 all-time coaching wins and is currently tied for 353rd place all-time for coaching wins.
