Changes One "M" for Another
The Monahans Lobos are once again welcoming a new Head Coach. Fred Staugh will be replacing Mel Maxfield who only held that position for just one season.
Coach Maxfield went 5-6 during his one season with the Lobos. Before that he was a Head Coach at Amarillo, Burleston and Forney. He has an All-Time Coaching record of 244-119-1. That puts him in a tie for 33rd place all-time.
Coach Staugh comes from McCamey where he led the Badgers for the last 2 years to an 18-6 record. Before that he was an assistant at Andrews. The Badgers were 13-31 before his arrival. In 2017, Staugh was awarded the Odessa American's Coach of the Year.
