Class 2A LSG 2018 Coach Of The Year

Each year, Lone Star Gridiron sends out ballots to our Fans, TXHSFB Coaches, Brotherhood members and our staff/contributors. We compile those votes to select our players and coaches of the year.

This year, Masons's Kade Burns was selected as the 2018 Class 2A LSG Coach Of The Year. Coach Burns's Punchers had a great season finishing with a perfect 16-0 record and winning the Class 2A Division I Championship.

Coach Burns was #1 in the voting with the Coaches and the Brotherhood. LSG and the Fans voted him in at the 3rd spot. The runner up spot went to Jerod Fikac of San Saba.

Burns has a record of 100-9-0 with a the Punchers and all-time. His dad Melvin was the Punchers head coach (1971-1977,1984-1988) compiling a 101-32-1. Kade is stepping down next season to be the principal. He is a graduate of Mason.

Friday Night Legends Board Game

We have the 2014 and 2004 teams already created and game board players around the world are coaching the Gobblers against some of the greatest teams in history.

2004 Mason The Punchers had a great season only losing one regular season game (Ozona) before finally falling in the third round of the playoffs to Holliday.

2014 Mason  The Punchers rolled through the regular season without much challenge and continued to shine in the postseason despite a scare by Refugio in the Quarterfinals. They came up one game short though falling to Canadian in the Championship.
