Class 5A LSG 2018 Offensive Player Of The Year

Each year, Lone Star Gridiron sends out ballots to our Fans, TXHSFB Coaches, Brotherhood members and our staff/contributors. We compile those votes to select our players and coaches of the year.

This year, Hutto's Chase Griffin was selected as the 2018 Class 5A LSG Offensive Player Of The Year. Griffin led the Hippos to a great season finishing with a 11-1 record and making it to the Regional playoffs.

Griffin was 268 of 373 passing for 4,051 yards and 51 touchdowns. He finished his high school career with over 11,000 yards passing and 123 touchdowns.

Mission Veterans Memorial QB Landry Gilpin was the Runner Up while JR RB Jase McClellan from Aledo finished 3rd.

Friday Night Legends Board Game

2013 Whitehouse with Patrick Mahomes The Wildcats had a wild year going to the Regionals. Their high flying offense led by QB Patrick Mahomes scored at least 38 points in every game. Mahomes finished his high school career with 8,434 yards passing.

2011 Aledo with Johnathan Gray  The Bearcats wons the Class 4A Division II title. They were led by superstar running back Jonathan Gray who ran for 3,888 yards which is the 3rd best all-time.
