The Long Wait is Over

Since there is no focus on the kicking game, it would have been wrong to title this "Scrimmages Kick Off Around the State." Instead teams all over Texas lined up and faced opponents across the line of scrimmage in full pads intent on learning.

Coaches learned the most - who was ready to go, who knew the plays, who remembered techniques taught once it was a game situation, whose conditioning is up-to-snuff, and a host of other things about the teams and coaches they faced. Players learned where they stood against other teams, where they stood against teammates vying for playing time, how excited their family and fans are about the upcoming season.

On fields all across the Lone Star State, it was "on like Donkey Kong" as stadium lights came to life midway through the scrimmage. The long-awaited day is here and the memes are flying...
