Joel Lopez Will Not Return to Zapata

Joel Lopez will not be returning as the head coach for Zapata in the upcoming season. This decision marks the conclusion of Lopez's six-year tenure at his alma mater.
During his time with Zapata, Lopez had 29 wins and 32 losses, guiding the team to four playoff appearances. In the most recent season, the Hawks had a 6-5 record, securing a spot in the playoffs but were eliminated in the first round.
Before joining Zapata, Lopez had a 12-year coaching stint with the Laredo Alexander Bulldogs. His record with the Bulldogs was 78 wins and 64 losses. Lopez led the Bulldogs to the playoffs in 10 out of his 12 seasons. Lopez's playoff record with the Bulldogs was 10-10.
