The duo of Karl Malone and John Stockton gave clinics on the "pick and roll" every night while supported by solid role players like Jeff Hornacek and Byron Russell. They met up with the Chicago Bulls in the finals and despite playing in some of the closest NBA finals games, the Bulls came away with the 4 games to 2 victory. The two squads would meet again in the finals the following season.
