Four seasons into the WNBA's initial seasons and the Comets won their fourth straight WNBA title. This was despite finishing 2nd in the Western Conference to the LA Sparks (who had beaten them 3 times during the regular season.) They defeated Sacramento and LA in the playoffs to face up against the New York Liberty for the title. The Comets beat NY in a two game home-and-away series for the crown.
