The 2001-02 Connecticut women's basketball team won the NCAA championship. The team was led by All-American guard Sue Bird, along with All-American forward Swin Cash and All-American center Asjha Jones. The team was coached by Geno Auriemma and is widely considered one of the greatest women's college basketball teams of all time. In the championship game, UConn defeated Oklahoma by a score of 82-70 to complete their undefeated season.
