2011 Coaching Change: Wharton Tigers

Old Head Coach: Stacey Hunt -- Resigns after leading the Tigers for the last 3 seasons to an 8-22-0 record. Hunt was also the head coach at 1A Granger for 6 years (2002-2007) 38-28-0, 2A Maypearl and Elgin, Oklahoma.

New Head Coach: Brad Wright -- Comes over after coaching at Texas State where he led the Southland Conference Bobcats to a 23-23-0 record during 4 seasons there. In his high school coaching career, Wright had been a head coach at New Braunfels Canyon from 2000-2002 where his teams went 18-24-0. His other head coaching stops have been at East Bernard (1999) 1 year 8-4 and at Karnes City (1997-1998) 2 years 10-10. His overall high school coaching record is 36-38-0. He also worked as the offensive coordinator at El Campo, Assistant at Southwestern Louisiana, Assistant at Klein Oak and Assistant at Pearland.

Team News: The Tigers finished 3-7 last season and went 1-3 in District play. They are currently on a 4 year losing streak (10-30-0).
