2011 Coaching Change: West Orange-Stark Mustangs
Old Head Coach: Dan Hooks -- Retiring after leading the Mustangs for the last 30 years to an amazing 277-71-2 record. Coach Hooks has an all-time record of 283-76-2 which puts him in 15th place on the all-time list. He took over as the Mustangs head coach in 1981. Before becoming the head coach he was an assistant at West Orange-Stark in their first vasity year in 1977. His teams have won 2 state championships and 17 district championships. Hooks has been with West Orange-Stark when they were a large Class 5A school an watched as the enrollement has dropped to Class 4A ranks (1986-2003) and now to Cass 3A. He has seen an done all of this on the sidelines of Dan R. Hooks Stadium.

Team News: West Orange-Stark was formed in 1977 from the merger of West Orange (Chiefs) and Orange Lutcher Stark (Tigers) High Schools. The Mustangs last had a losing season in 1983 (Only one in their 34 year history). They have had 8+ win season 8 of last 9 years.
