2011 Coaching Change: Vanderbilt Industrial Cobras

Old Head Coach: Doug Kuhlmann -- Leaving for 4A San Angelo Lake View. He led the Cobras to an overall 48-24-0 record over 6 years. Kuhlmann played quarterback for Angelo State from 1978-1981 and got his first coaching job in 1983 at Lake View when current San Angelo executive director of athletics, Jim Slaughter hired him as an assistant. Coach Kuhlmann was also a head coach at San Angelo Grape Creek and 2A Eldorado from 1989-1995 where he had a 39-32-1 record. His overall head coaching record is 89-74-1.

New Head Coach: Shane Lothman -- Was the Defensive Coordinator for the past 3 seasons. He was the Head Coach at Lubbock Roosevelt for 4 seasons going 18-23. He was also an assistant at Roby. Lothmans 2006 team made the playoffs for the first time in 20 years. Industrials defense under Lothman has limited opponents to less than 19 points a game in each of the last three seasons and produced six shutouts.

Team News: The Cobras are on a 3 year winning streak (all 9+ wins). They have reached the Regionals in each of those 3 seasons. There two biggest rivals are Edna and Ganado. They are 3-4 vs. Edna since 1998 and 6-8 vs. Ganado since 1994.
