-
Updated: May 19, 2011
Of the 10 teams to win a state championship in 11-man Texas high school football, the 4A Aledo Bearcats were recently voted the Most Likely to Repeat as Champions. Lone Star Gridiron took a poll among their facebook fan base asking which current state champion was most likely to repeat the feat in 2011. A shocking 85% of the voting fans decided that Aledo has the best chance.
In second place was the winner of four consecutive titles, the 4A Austin Lake Travis Cavaliers. Fifty-seven percent of voters thought that #5 is in order for the Central Texas powerhouse. Tied for third likely to repeat as champion was first time champion, the 5A Pearland Oilers and 1A Falls City, both of whom have convinced 43% of fans that they are not a one-trick pony.
