2011 Coaching Change: Giddings Buffaloes
Old Head Coach: Derek Fitzhenry — Leaving for 4A Longview Pine Tree. He led the Buffaloes to a 72-24-0 record over the last eight seasons. Coach Fitzhenry was hired as the new head coach at Pasadena Dobie last year but decided against moving after Giddings players and fans voiced support for their longtime coach.
New Head Coach: Chris Jones — From 2A Post where he led the Antelopes to a 16-16-0 record over the last 3 years. He has also been a head coach at 4A La Marque 2007 (9-3) and Refugio 2003-2006 (34-14). He has an all-time coaching record of 59-33-0. He has also been an assistant coach at Sinton, Bryan, Honey Grove and Wolfforth Frenship.
Team News: 2010 ended a streak of 5 consecutive 9+ win seasons and a 7 year winning streak for the Buffaloes.
