Refugio Gets All-State Transfer

Texas High School Football, Refugio

Quarterback Lynx Hawthorne will be transferring to 2A Refugio from 2A Weimer. His dad, Kent Hawthorne will be an assistant coach there next season.

Lynx has committed to play at Baylor. Last season, he passed for 1,270 yards and 11 touchdowns and ran for 1,213 yards and 14 touchdowns. He also was an all-state punter. The 6'0" 185 pound Hawthorne runs a 4.40 40 yard dash.

Kent Hawthorne was head coach at Weimar the past three seasons. He went 6-4 last year and had a combined record of 18-12 in three years.

The Bobcats from Refugio made it to the Class 2A Division II state semifinals last year and will have lots of talent returning. There Quarterback from last years team graduated so Hawthorne should be able to step right in.
