The Cavaliers left no doubt that they are the team to beat if you want to win a champioship last week with a convincing win over pre-season #1 Aledo. Meanwhile, the Antlers played in one of the other LSG games of the week vs. Cibolo Steele last week coming up a little short. These two teams played twice last year which is the only time they have played each other. Both games where close and high scoring. Lake Travis won in the regular season 37-33 and then again in the Area playoffs 48-42.

Mike Says: Tivy is about 50/50 run vs. pass on offense and they will need that balance to keep Lake Travis off of their feet. Lake Travis is also pretty balanced but they actually run more than they pass because they build up big early leads. QB Baker Mayfield has stepped in nicely and took over the QB position after superstar Colin Lagassee went down with an early injury. Mayfield is also the leading rusher. The receiving group is led by Zach Austin (19-408 3 TDs) and Griffin Gilbert (13-201 4 TDs). No one thinks about the defense much but it is spectacular. DB Zach Streuling (47 tackles), LB Corbin Crow (42 tackles, 4 sacks) and DB Jacob Standard (9 PD) lead them. I hope this is another high scoring classic but it will not. Lake Travis is too good. The CAVALIERS win 35-14!!!
Chris Says: While it is tough to pick against Kerrville Tivy - especially after a tough loss like the one to Cibolo Steele, it is even tougher to pick against Austin Lake Travis PERIOD. The Cavs are just too loaded. Zach Streuling is a beast - Griffin Gilbert is maybe even better than his brother - Zach Austin could be even better than Griffin... but you know what - Colin Lagassee impresses me more than all of them. It doesn't matter where they throw him on the team, he is a natural. Lake Travis moves to 4-0 after a 38-10 victory!!!
